Kakajo zone Activations – A Transformative Community Endeavor Against Climate Change

Saturday 21st January 2023

Kakajo Zone Activations successfully launched the Greening Uganda initiative, engaging the community and fostering a collective commitment to combat climate change. The event, supported by local residents, a climate change organization, and Ugandan fashion models Tricia Akello and Aamito Lagum, focused on uplifting urban slum communities in Kakajo Zone 1, Kisenyi, Kampala Central Division.

Through tree planting and hygiene promotion, the collaborative effort heightened awareness about climate change’s impact on these communities. The activation’s core ethos centered on shared responsibility and proactive engagement, serving as a beacon of hope and unity. This successful model of community collaboration highlights the potential for collective action in achieving environmental sustainability, laying the foundation for a greener and more resilient Uganda.
