Marigold Engineering recently teamed up with Mambya Arts Foundation to support a tree-planting initiative at Success Junior School in Bwaise. Three dedicated staff members from Marigold participated hands-on, planting trees alongside the pupils. The team prepared the ground by adding black soil and planting herbs around each tree to improve water retention.
To combat local flooding, the trees were slightly elevated, and protective barriers of bricks and fencing were erected to safeguard the saplings from goats. Their sponsorship includes a 1-year budget for watering which the green garden dispenses monthly to the school to ensure saplings survive. The Green guardian is also on hand to check for diseases on plants and help with pruning when needed.
The school recieved 3 fruit trees which in 3-4 years will provide teachers and students with nutritious food along with much needed shade in their play area and improve the ability of the soil to withstand the effects of flooding
This collaboration showcases Marigold Engineering’s commitment to sustainability and community impact.
