Amidst the backdrop of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the landscape of live events was profoundly altered. However, despite these challenges, in 2020 we were resolute in our commitment to bring forth an unforgettable experience. With unwavering support from our esteemed partners, the U.S. MISSION KAMPALA, through their FEDERAL ASSISTANCE AWARD, we proudly present the virtual rendition of our annual celebration: the Tuzinne Festival Where Human Rights Dance 2020. See Video at the end
The Tuzinne Festival stands as a beacon of inclusivity, spotlighting the artistic endeavors of individuals with disabilities and those from marginalized communities across Uganda. This virtual iteration of our festival not only showcases remarkable talent but also underscores the shared values of both American and Ugandan societies. Through the lens of dance, we emphasize the principles of free speech, diversity, and the unwavering protection of the rights of every individual.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our invaluable partners whose generosity and belief in our mission made this year’s festival possible. Additionally, we express our heartfelt appreciation to the talented artists who enthusiastically collaborated with us to bring this unique edition to life. To the production crew whose dedication and skill breathed life into our vision, your contributions with (covid protocols observed!) were immeasurable.
Together, we illuminate the power of dance as a catalyst for change and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
